      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

All about the splashy kills, Terrifier artfully introduces the unpredictable massacrer mime Art, yet fails to carve an entertaining story worthy of his wrath.

Thomas We took someone to see this as their first horror film in theaters ever and they thoroughly enjoyed it as much as you can enjoy a brutal horror film. The first Terrifier is more intense than the sequel as Art basically beats everyone he runs into where as the sequel has more of a hero. Both are solid for what they offer and the effects are unreal. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Conall RT Art deserves nothing less than the big screen, and this re-release definitely did him justice. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Mattskilletguy Absolutely amazing! Loved seeing Art the clown on the big screen. Especially during that hacksaw scene. A true Horror icon 🔥 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Jacob Extremely cool and stylish slasher with soul and a twisted sense of humor. Anton Bitel Sight & Sound Thornton stays in rôle as fun-loving mime artist, so that all his slayings involve an unnerving combination of predatory sadism & popular performance. This makes him a perfect vehicle for the paradoxes of horror (as) entertainment. Nov 7, 2017 Full Review Randy Meeks Espinof Simply, Terrifier, ends up being more fatiguing than scary. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Feb 3, 2023 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault Once you figure out there's not going to be anything to it aside from being a bloody calling card, you kind of just sigh and wait for it to be over. Rated: C Jan 12, 2023 Full Review Diego Batlle Otroscines.com Making the aesthetic of '90s VHS genre movies its own, Terrifier makes conciseness and stylized sensationalism its fundamental pillars. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3.5/5 Jan 10, 2023 Full Review Jared Mobarak Hey, Have You Seen ...? I'd guess the grotesque kills came to Leone first since the flimsy narrative that lets them unfold in sequence is treated as little more than an afterthought. Rated: 4/10 Dec 30, 2022 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Terrifier admittedly (and eventually) progresses into a repetitive third act that ensures the whole thing peters out to a fairly palpable degree...
