Travelogue: Enchanted Kingdom

By: Leanne A. Berdon / 12 - Aquarius

It was February 5 when my Father and I decided to visit our old house in Santa Rosa,
Laguna. We had a one-week semester break therefore Dad and I packed our things and
rode the next bus to my childhood home. When we arrived, my childhood friend and I
impulsively bought two tickets to the Enchanted Kingdom; a theme park located at RSBS
Boulevard, San Lorenzo Rd, South, Santa Rosa, Laguna.
When we entered the theme park, our first ride was the Twin Spin, a junior roller coaster
to pump up our blood for our next rides. Next, we rode the Air Race which is famous for
its simulation of acrobatic exhibition flights and mimics weightlessness as each plane
rotates anywhere 360 degrees while revolving around a central tower.
After that, my friend and I rested for a while before diving into another ride called
the Anchor's Away. We also tried out the famous EKstreme Tower which takes the
rider a minute to get to the top almost 40 meters high before suddenly dropping 76
kph. This ride had us screaming at the top of our lungs. It felt like our soul was left
at the top of the tower.
And since my friend didn't want to put our ticket to waste, she pulled me into every
ride EK has to offer. We tried Agila, Bumpnsplash, Disk-O-Magic, Dodgem,
Ekaleidoscope, Flying Fiesta, Rialto, Rio Grande Rapids, Roller Skater, Swan Lake,
Wheel of Fate, and lastly, my favorite, the Space Shuttle.
The Enchanted Kingdom is filled with wonderful sites where you can take
instagrammable pictures everywhere. Although you are not allowed to bring your
own food inside- don't worry! EK has food stalls on every corner and a covered food
court where you can eat and rest anytime.
The Space Shuttle is a thrilling roller coaster ride that turns guests upside-down 6
times – 3 times forward and 3 times backward – all in two minutes! Both of us rode
this twice because we loved the thrill.
The Wheel of Fate is a big, old-fashioned Ferris Wheel that lifts riders over 130 feet
into the air. My friend and I rode the ride to rest after the nonstop extreme rides
we'd been getting into. We took pictures of the park and the sky. We also
reminisced a few things from our past which felt extremely relieving. It was nice to
spend time with your best friend after years of separation.

Disk-O-Magic was the first extreme ride my Dad and I rode before when it was first
introduced to the public. Before, all I felt was fear, but when my friend and I rode
this together- I felt excited and thrilled.

At the end of the day, we tried out Agila right after riding the Rio Grande, therefore
having to suffer from the cold AC of the building. Although it didn't reach my
expectations, it was nice to see what's inside of it after 6 years. We got home tired
and physically exhausted but the day was worth it. Every second, every minute and
every hour was well spent since I was with my best-friend for more than a decade.
