  1. Cotransport Cotransport is a method of transportation which uses energy to move solutes across a plasma membrane. This method uses electrochemical potential difference rather than ATP to fuel the transportation of substances.

  2. Antiports. Uses the entropic energy produced by one solute travelling across a membrane down the concentration gradient - from high concentration to low – to transport another solute in the opposite direction up a concentration gradient – from low to high. Symports. Uses the movement of one solute down a concentration gradient - from high concentration to low concentration – to move another solute across a membrane against the concentration gradient in the same direction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secondary_active_transport http://apbrwww5.apsu.edu/thompsonj/Anatomy%20&%20Physiology/2010/2010%20Exam%20Reviews/Exam%201%20Review/Ch03%20Active%20Transport.htm
