- 3. ο Endometriosis is the abnormal growth of endometrial cells outside the uterus. The most common symptom is pelvic pain. ο Endometriosis is more common in women who are experiencing infertility than in fertile women, but the condition does not necessarily cause infertility
- 4. ο Female genital prolapse is characterized by descent of female genital organs beyond their normal anatomical confines. - 7. ο Urethrocele is the prolapse of the female urethra into the vagina. Weakening of the tissues that hold the urethra in place cause it to move and to put pressure on the vagina, leading to the descent of the anterior distal wall of the vagina. ο Urethroceles often occur with cystoceles, (involving the urinary bladder as well as the urethra). In this case, the term used is cystourethrocele.
