Akbar Research Paper
The Mughal dynasty was established by a man named Babur who ruled over the state of Hindustan
(India). As a youth, Babur, a prince of the house of Timur, was unable to maintain his sovereignty over
the small Central Asian state bequeathed to him by his father (Source?). Instead, he turned his
attention to the southeast, where he occupied Kabul in 1504, and almost immediately embarked on his
conquest of India (Source?). By 1527, Babur had defeated both the forces of the Lodi sultan and those
of the Hindu confederacy (Source?). However, at the time of his death, in 1530, he had not yet
transformed his territorial acquisitions into an empire (Source?). This task was left to his son
Humayun, who lacked the military genius of his father and soon forfeited the Mughal foothold in
India (Source?). Only through Persian military intervention did he manage to regain the capital cities
of Agra and Delhi in 1555; however, Humayun s son Akbar was credited with the real foundation of
the Mughal Empire (Source?).
During his reign from 1556 to 1605, Akbar established dominion over northern and central India, as
far east as Bengal. He secured the northwestern frontier, which served as a gateway to India for so
many previous invasions. Akbar s most important territorial gain was the sultanate of Gujarat, in the
west, which provided the Mughal empire with enormous wealth from its commercial centers, and
access to the Arabian Sea. This presented an opportunity for lucrative trade with both

Power Transmission Of Electric Utilities
Electric Utilities are a vital industry to the overall economy, and to our very way of life. Keeping the
lights on, is for many people, the reason they go to work, that along with food, and other necessities.
Therefore these companies serve a very important role, and just like other industries there is
competition. Specifically, for our purposes, the electric utilities industry I m going to focus on is the
transmission of power from a generator, to a distribution center, another utilities company, or the final
consumer. The key economic drivers, in this industry revolve, as always, around demand. Therefore
consumption, number of households, price of electricity, manufacturing capacity and public capital
investments are all derived from the demand coming from the end users, in the economy (IBISworld).
These metrics are a result of a heavily regulated market, in which the consumers, and therefore its
agent, the government, hold most of the power in this industry. Electric power transmission is a
mature industry in the United States, and its projected growth over the next ten years is a modest 1.2%
(Morningstar). This industry will be examined as a whole and then comparatively, as I inspect
companies performing in this sector and their relative performance. EXTERNAL ENVIORNMENT
When assessing the external environment of the electric utilities industry, a PESTLE analysis is
appropriate to determine significant external factors affecting this industry (Vrabac). Of these

No On Traveling To Mars
Since the beginning of time, people have been curious, and are always trying to explore. But now it is
2017, and we have to understand what we should do and what we shouldn t do. People today have a
good idea about the hazards of space travel and know the consequences space travel can have for
people. And after considering Andy Weir s statement regarding travel to Mars, I am of the opinion that
we as a nation should not fund a manned mission to Mars in the near future because it will be very
expensive, we have a larger need to explore places here on Earth, and it purposes a large danger to the
people traveling in space.

spinal fluid stops circulating. On voyages of more than a year, that could lead to blindness or

In conclusion, traveling to Mars may seem like a great idea, but it really isn t. After considering Andy

`` Brave New World Of Digital Intimacy `` And Mark Twain...
Humanity started as small tribes of people working together and benefiting each other, with each
member having a clear identity that complements the other small group members. The advancement of
civilization threatened this identity. Soon, hordes of people living together in cities, towns, and
countries drowned out individual voices and opinions, causing people to lose a sense of identity.
While it may be hard to maintain a sense of identity in a crowd, society offers many hidden benefits
that can counterbalance the struggles of identity. Two readings, Clive Thompson s Brave New World
of Digital Intimacy and Mark Twain s The Dairies of Adam and Eve show how society and sharing the
Good life can benefit the individual overall, and might even help an individual find their own identity.
In Mark Twain s The Diaries of Adam and Eve, Adam first struggled with the existence of his new life
partner Eve. He hated the fact that he never had alone time, and the fact that Eve was starting to name
all the animals in the garden. Matters worsened when they had kids. However, near the end of the
reading, Adam begun to realize that Eve enriched his life in a way that he never knew before. Adam,
in return, also enriched Eve s life. The two found happiness together where they normally would not
find it alone. The pair s relationship shows the core idea of forsaking solitude and peace for something
more, the companionship and joy of others.

Resistance Training Essay
Resistance training is an exercise that exploits progressive resistance movements, typically with free
weights or weight machines, to build strength or muscle endurance (Mood et al 2003). Weight training
has become very popular in recent years and is now used for a variety of reasons including
performance enhancement, competitive weight lifting and to increase physical fitness (Mood et al
2003). Interval training involves a repeated series of exercise work bouts interspersed with rest of
relief periods. This is a popular method among athletes because it allows the athlete to exercise at
higher relative intensities during the work interval than are possible with longer duration, continuous
training (Heyward 2002). The intensity can vary from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It might be more appropriate to refer to this type of training as vo2 max or aerobic capacity training
since the athlete trains at or very near the intensity which demands vo2 max of the system (Daniels
and Scardina, 1984). Interval training can be referred to in several different ways. Fox (1977) refers to
two types of interval training, low power output interval training and high power output interval
training. High power output interval training involves exercise and rest periods of less than one
minute. Gibala and Mcgee (2008) refer to High intensity training. This generally refers to repeated
sessions of relatively short intermittent exercise often performed with an all out . Minimum volume of
High intensity training may be necessary to increase VO2 peak. Alternatively, Astrand and Rodahl
(1977) say that exercise bouts lasting 3 5 minutes each are the longest recommended and are
considered optimum for training aerobic processes. The purpose of high intensity training is to
repeatedly stress the physiological systems that will be used during specific endurance type exercise
(Daniels and Scardina 1984) than which is required during a specific activity. Intensity was the most
important factor in producing improvements in aerobic power, regardless of level of exercise, duration
frequency, program length or initial fitness (Wenger and bell,

The Creek Field Is An Old Accumulation And Is Reaching The...
The Darst Creek Field is an old accumulation and is reaching the end of its primary production phase.
It offers the unique operational constraints of its targets being primarily of carbonate lithology
(limestone s and chalks.) This structural composition offers potential to be enhanced via a chemical or
water flood due to its relatively high permeability and other reservoir characterization. Contained
within is the research and findings after building and executing a simulation of the potential for a
flood in this area.
1 Introduction
Water and polymer flooding have seen a surge in older fields as a method of extracting bypassed
hydrocarbons in the secondary production phase of the reservoir. Typically, the floods have seen the
largest increase of EUR in reservoirs that have highly mobile fluids and with a high permeability
formation. This allows the fluids to rapidly move through the formation and push the desired
hydrocarbons towards our production wells. These reservoirs are typically in the form of deeper
sandstone reservoirs, but studies are being conducted in an attempt to implement the floods in other
reservoir types. Through this paper we will evaluate the needs of an EOR process in carbonate
formations to evaluate their potential implementation in the Darst Creek Oil Field in Luling, Texas.
The evaluation will evaluate studies of flood effectiveness in other carbonate reservoirs to evaluate
both the operational and theoretical constraints of this specific

Hamlet’s Astounding Success Essay
Hamlet s Astounding Success
What secret formula did the playwright William Shakespeare use in the recipe for the tragedy Hamlet?
Why, this play has been the rage for 400 years! Let s analyze the reasons for its success.
A.C. Bradley tells in his book of criticism, Shakespearean Tragedy, the extreme importance of the
character of Hamlet to the rating of the play:
Naturally then, the tragedy of Hamlet with Hamlet left out has become the symbol of extreme
absurdity; while the character itself has probably exerted a great fascination, and certainly has been
the subject of more discussion, than any other in the whole literature of the world. (94)
In total agreement with Bradley are other critics, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

There is no more exalted ranking than the above. Richard A. Lanham in the essay Superposed Plays
maintains that no other English tragedy has generated the literary comment which this play has
produced: Hamlet is one of the great tragedies. It has generated more comment than any other written
document in English literature, one would guess, reverent, serious comment on it as a serious play
(91). Robert B. Heilman in The Role We Give Shakespeare relates the high ranking of Shakespeare to
the innumerableness of the parts :
But the Shakespeare completeness appears graspable and possessable to many men at odds with each
other, because of the innumerableness of the parts: these parts we may consider incompletenesses,
partial perspectives, and as such they correspond to the imperfect (but not necessarily invalid) modes
of seeing and understanding [. . .] . (10)
Indeed, the reader finds a wide variety of parts from beginning to end of Hamlet. This is seen in the
fact of over 20 characters with speaking roles; and in their variety of occupations from king to grave
digger; and in the 20 different scene changes; and in the differentiation

Oral Hygiene for adults with Dementia
Introduction
The purpose of this essay is to discuss a clinical skill or nursing action by referring to the nursing and
allied health literature to explain and support evidence based practice. The skill I wish to examine is
the practice of oral hygiene for adults with dementia in residential aged care facilities. In this essay I
aim to provide the reader with adequate references to support the best practice for oral hygiene for
people with dementia.

Another assessment tool is the Oral Health Assessment tool and is a condensed alteration of the
BOHSE. It can be completed before implementing an individualized oral hygiene care plan.
Completing this assessment will help the health care professional assess the patients current oral status
and factors, which can contribute to their risk for oral disease. This makes it possible to put into
practice the most appropriate care, plan for the residents needs. There is only a small amount of
literature providing quality evidence based on the use of a successful oral health assessment tool for
people with dementia (JBI, 2004). There is no published evidence to this date that has directly linked
the use of the assessment tool and the standard of oral hygiene and care given within residential aged
care facilities (JBI, 2004). For successful assessment of the residents with dementia the assessment
should be undertaken by trained staff and on admission the assessment should also involve a dentist
(JBI, 2004). Assessment should be done on a regular basis, at least every 8 weeks (JBI, 2004).
Research has shown that staff training in oral hygiene and the use of an individualised Oral Hygiene
Care Plan is beneficial to the resident and also the nurse and will allow appropriate care (National
Guideline Clearing house [NGC], 2003).

As Buddhism developed different schools or sects began to branch out taking the main component of
Buddhist belief, called Dharma, but coming up with different ways to practice their own distinct view

nations of Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan because of this many Vajrayana s tantras, rituals, have woven into

the vajra in Vajrayana Buddhist practices.
The artwork I chose to analysis was a Vajra Ritual Scepter that is currently being held by the
Philadelphia Museum of Art ( Vajra Ritual Scepter See Appendix 1). The Wheeler s donated this piece
to the museum in 1933. The actual artwork has been dated to the nineteenth century from somewhere
in Tibet. The artist is unknown but the vajra was constructed of copper alloy with mercury gilding. As
a result it is a shiny cool gold color, not quite true gold but not quite a true silver or metallic color. The
center is made of a bead of metal where a person can hold the vajra between the tips of their thumb

him take the name of Nikhil as his good name, a name in the Indian culture that is used for

thinks he doesn t need a good name. He just wants to be Gogol. It is as Nikhil that he loses his
virginity at a party at Ezra Stiles, with a girl wearing a plaid woolen skirt and combat boots and
mustard tights (105). Later in his life he starts to use his good name, Nikhil, and it seems he becomes a
new person and enjoys life. The truth is Gogol isn t enjoying life, Nikhil is. Without people in the
world to call him Gogol, no matter how long he himself lives, Gogol Ganguli will, once and for all,
vanish from the lips of loved ones, and so, cease to exist. Yet the thought of this eventual demise

Supervisor Skills Essays
Six Skills to Successful Supervision
Supervisors are an important part of any organization. They are charged with ensuring the will of
management is carried out by the workers. A supervisor must communicate with that team. He or she
must orient and train the employees. Their employees must be made to work as a well functioning,
productive team. Employees must have the performance evaluated. Any conflicts that arise must be
resolves and the working relationship must always be improved.
Communication
Well performing teams can not be built without good communication. A good supervisor must possess
the ability to relay clearly their own thoughts, listen to the ideas of others and ensure the will of
management is executed. Excellent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is done by restating the key points of the speaker. Restating will show the speaker that he or she
is being listened to which will improve the rapport and further enhance communication. The speaker
will also have the opportunity to clear up any misunderstood points. Paraphrasing will also aid in
remembering the conversation for later.
Determining Effective Orientation and Training Methods
The first day of work can be intimidating for anyone; even for those who have been in the workforce
for many years. Nervousness, while not unusual, can be detrimental to the goals of a company. Taking
the time to ensure all new employees are acquainted with their coworkers and surrounding can reduce
insecurity and boost moral. A thorough training program will also help to eliminate mistakes, ensure
procedures are followed and increase employee confidence. Orientation should be held on the first
day. Employees should be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and learn about the others that
are being going to be in orientation with them. This will help them relax and feel more comfortable
asking questions. This is a good time to take care of paper work. Payroll and tax forms should be filled
completed as well as any other necessary documents. This is also a good time to discuss the company
and its plans. The employee should also be introduced to the hierarchy of the company. This will
allow them to see where

Lizard Adaptations
Josiah
Lizards
The lizard is a fascinating creature. Lizards vary in size, shape, ability, dietary needs, habitat, and
mating. For instance, the Komodo dragon is bigger than a gecko, needs more food to eat, and eats a
different source of food. The iguana will live near the water, while a ruin lizard will live in grassy
fields, parks, or gardens. Nonetheless all these animals are still lizards. It is intriguing to learn about
the habitats, predators, and characteristics of lizards.
Lizards have different habitats some choose sunny places to put their homes, while others will live in
shady spots. Then there are the lizards that live in the dessert where it is nice and hot, but they live

Most lizards that live in the shade will have smooth and soft skin. This will help the lizard crawl
through tight spots. If the lizard is a chameleon then it will have a specialized tail and feet. Their tail is
a prehensile tail, this means that they can use their tail to curl around a branch; their feet are also
special because they can use them to grip tightly to a branch. Chameleons live in trees, but they do not
have soft skin; they have hard skin and horns for protection, along with their ability to camouflage
(Bishop, 22, 26).
The lizard is not friends with everybody. There are animals that when they see a lizard they do not see
the cute or cool animal that we see; they see a snack, or dinner depending on the animal. These
animals consist of birds, snakes, or even other lizards (Knopf, 487 580). When a lizard notices a snake
slithering through the ground, it most likely will not try to fight it. Now that is depending on the size
of the snake and the lizard. Obviously, if the lizard is a lot bigger than the snake then it will fight, or
the snake will just turn away. If the snake is bigger than the lizard, then most likely the lizard will dash
away or climb up a tree. Some lizards will actually stand still, so that way they are not noticed by the
snake. (Bishop,

Manipulation Depicted In Shakespeare s Richard The III
William Shakespeare s Richard the III follows the story of Richard, Duke of Gloucester, and how he
shamelessly oppresses and exploits others in order to become king. As the play unfolds, we are shown
Richard s cunning abilities, and the ways in which he resolves his problems. In this passage, Richard
is attempting to advance with his plans of becoming king. In order to successfully do so, he must learn
of the ones around him. He must know who he can trust, and who he cannot, for his plans can prove to
be futile and potentially dangerous to him if he does not confide in the right people. Richard s

Catesby says, Tis a vile thing to die, my gracious lord,/When men are unprepared and look not for it.
(61 62) The irony exists as Catesby is not only referring to Elizabeth s kinsmens deaths, but he is also
foreshadowing Hastings doom. Hastings is negligent in realizing the true nature of Catesby s words.
This irony further depicts the recurring theme of deception in the play, but as well as Hastings
blindness. Hastings is manipulated into believing that Richard will protect him in any situation as he
says, As thou and I, who, as thou know st, are dear /To princely Richard and to Buckingham. (66 68)
Richard s concealed operations are proven successful as Hastings is deceived by Catesby s illusive
words. The many occurrences of double entendre through Catesby s replies add to the irony, but also
demonstrate how Richard s mischievous implications are hidden from Hastings, but not from the
audience. Richard s manipulative expertise can also be shown by, not only his enemies, but also his
friends and followers. In the passage, Catesby is easily manipulated and corrupted by Richard.
Richard s manipulative skills are critical to his development and representation of a smart yet hateful
man. Most of Richard s followers, including Catesby, do not honor him because of him and his plans,

Solomon Northup Slavery
Although some scenes depicted in 12 Years a Slave may not have been accurate to Solomon Northup s
particular experience, they do portray the grisly reality of slavery as a whole with a jarring honesty.
One of the first things we learn about Solomon is his ability to play the violin. At first glance, this
would seem to simply indicate that he is more privileged than most of his black counterparts to have
the luxury of taking up such a practice, but if you contextualize the long history of black people only
being deemed valuable when exploitable by white people, it paints a much clearer picture. The scene

Heroin is processed from the poppy plant. The Opium poppy had been cultivated and marketed for

1874 by C. R. Alder Wright.1 At that time the production of heroin was in response to the demand for
the need of a non addictive pain killer. The substance was produced but sat dormant for a number of

2. Cut the eggplant into 1/4 slices. Leave the eggplant skin on. However, if you prefer, you can
remove the skin.
3. Coat both sides of each eggplant slice with olive oil, and place them on a parchment covered baking
sheet. Sprinkle with salt to taste
4. Roast the eggplant in your oven for 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes are up, take the eggplant out
and flip the slices before placing the eggplant back in the oven to cook for another 10 minutes.
5. Turn over the eggplant one last time and roast for another 3 to 5 minutes. The slices should be moist
and soft, and appear slightly browned when they are done.
6. Cut open your ciabatta bread and toast it on a baking sheet in the oven. Once the bread is nice and
crispy, take it out and spread your chosen pesto sauce on one side. On top of that add a piece of aged
white cheddar cheese. If you would like the cheese slightly melted, place the ciabatta bread back in the
oven for a minute or two.
7. After the eggplant slices and ciabatta have cooled down start making your sandwiches. If you want
a little extra flavor, top the sandwich off with a wedge or two of avocado.

The advice I would offer to my friend is to look for central day care because there is a well training

The Cask Of Amontillado Symbolism Essay
Edgar Allan Poe s story The Cask of Amontillado possess a disturbingly eerie tone. An untrustworthy
man tells the story of his revenge; how he tricked his victim into a dark cellar and buried him alive.
All of these events symbolizes something greater, but the readers have to put the clues together. In The
Cask of Amontillado, the author illustrates how people will go to extreme measures for what they
desire using symbolism.
The Cask of Amontillado is a clever title Poe uses. Not only does the title represent the item that one
of the main characters wants, but also the character himself. The way amontillado is made, is the same
way Fortunato is characterized. Since the beginning of the story, it is established that Fortunato is an
alcoholic. Montresor finds him drunk and lures him into the catacombs to drink more alcohol. True
amontillado develops naturally, transforming through age; medium sherry, in contrast, is an
amontillado that has been sweetened and fortified with alcohol from the start. (Lewis) A refined
amontillado is made by mixing in more alcohol. Fortunato s true colors show when he accepts several
bottles of wine from Montresor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Guantanamo Bay in Cuba houses some of the most dangerous people. The people being held have

By passing the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the person in control of all decisions would be the
President. They also gave the president absolute power to designate enemy combatants, and to set his
own definitions for torture (Military Commissions). If someone were to identify the players who were
deemed responsible for this act to pass, that someone would most likely identify President Bush and
Congress. These central figures wanted to take the extra step in keeping the United States protected
from any additional acts of terrorism. With what is stated in the Military Commissions Act of 2006
and those who stressed for the passage of the act, mixed messages are sent. President Bush, at the
time, believed in less harm and more protection for the United States due to the extenuating
circumstances. By creating a law that gives the President absolute authority and leaving no room for
improvement, how was the United States going to look like? What it going to be looked at as a weak

Television, A Modern Media Essay
Television, a telecommunication medium some may not survive without. Today s generation may refer
to television as a technological norm; delusional of a world where television was non existent.
Notably, television unites the nation through local or world events, politics, education, and
entertainment. Philo Farnsworth, Father of Television, invented the television; the electronic
transmission of fixed or mobile images. Furthermore, Farnsworth s invention influenced a new form
of media. Young Farnsworth s scientific, technological imagination as well as, competitive battle with
a major league corporation, RCA, enticed the growth of one of the most popular media mediums;
television.
One illustrious instrument that advanced media configuration is Farnsworth s ambitious background.
Philo Farnsworth, innovator at heart, was born August 19, 1906 in Beaver, Utah. Young Farnsworth
grew up on a farmhouse in Rigby, Idaho. While tending to daily agricultural responsibilities on the
farm, Farnsworth fantasized about conveying images through electrical power. He said he had realized
seven years earlier, while plowing a field on his family s farm, that an image could be scanned onto a
picture tube row by row ( Elma Gardner Farnsworth, 98; Helped Husband Develop TV, 2006).
Likewise, Farnsworth created electrical improvements to household appliances which became a
favored pastime. According to Godfrey (2004), By age 12, Philo was repairing the electric machinery

The Importance Of Body Mass And Speed
Growing up I have always been fascinated with Track and Field. The adrenaline, the time, and speed
were all factors that created interest. It wasn t until I was older I decided to play the sport with a
passion. I have noticed track runners come in various body compositions including body mass and
height, which made me ponder, does height of a runner affect their speed?
With all things being equal (body mass, proportionality and stride rate) the mechanics of running
depends upon more than runner height. According to most researchers, the height of the runner can be
a factor that helps increase speed, but the mechanics of a runner s stride, and how the runner s body
responds to training also can make a runner faster. A runner should have a steady stride rate and have a
manageable body mass and have an equal proportionally in order to maximize his or her potential.
Background information
Running is a type of gait characterized by an aerial phase in which all feet are above the ground
(though there are exceptions). Running is a method of transportation allowing humans and other
animals to move rapidly on foot ( Running ).
This is in contrast to walking, where one foot is always in contact with the ground, the legs are kept
mostly straight and the center of gravity vaults over the stance leg or legs in an inverted pendulum
fashion. A characteristic feature of a running body from the viewpoint of spring mass mechanics is
that changes in kinetic and potential energy within a

Tubman Art museum. When I first looked at this piece I was very drawn to the texture. By the looks of
the picture I took, you cannot really tell that this piece is textured. This piece depicts a picture of a
man who seems to be a museum worker holding a frame and essentially framing himself in it. In this

The war of 1812 decreased immigration from America, but the act by Simcoe to abolish slavery and

Reflection Of Jesus
Jesus continues to preach. He forbids divorce and advocates chastity, while expounding the virtues of
asceticism. He warns against the pitfalls of wealth, teaches forgiveness, and welcomes children. In
Jerusalem, cheering crowds await him. People spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches
from the trees and spread them on the road (Matthew 21:8). Upon his arrival in Jerusalem, Jesus
expels money changers from the Jewish temple and defies the chief priests and elders, saying, My
house shall be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers (Matthew 21:13). Jesus
s action earns him the support of the crowds. He chastises Jewish leaders, telling them they have been
poor caretakers of the temple and that the people have been hypocritical, focusing on technical legal
issues rather than justice and mercy and faith (Matthew 23:23). Seeing the wickedness of Jerusalem,
and foreseeing God s punishment of the wicked, Jesus warns his disciples to be prepared for the end of
the world. He says that tribulations will precede the final judgment, but that the Son of man Jesus
himself will come, and that the righteous will be saved.
In Chapter 26, Jesus celebrates the Last Supper with the disciples. Jesus indicates that Judas, one of
his disciples, will betray him. Jesus predicts that after his death, the other disciples will flee, and Peter
will also betray him. WhenHe breaks bread and drinks wine with the disciples, Jesus initiates a ritual

Duty of the Health Administrator is to make ethical and challenging decisions in order to help all staff

ethically impactful than those of physicians, as their decisions typically affect a broad population

Lifting Weights
English 101

Lifting
Natural God given talent can only get an athlete so far. At some point they will need to realize that
hard work will take them much further than talent ever could taking them. When an athlete trains
during the off season by lifting weights it helps him or her become physically ready for the season
ahead. Without pre training, showing up on the day of tryouts and hoping to be great and being able to
do well is a horrible idea. A weight lifting program is essential for any athlete to achieve top
performance.

Lifting weights strengthens bones and tendons. It helps increase muscle volume and muscle
conditioning. It allows an athlete to perform with a higher level of strength and speed. Physically,
athletes whom weight train and are in good condition will also be able to recover faster if and when an
injury occurs. I see this in our setting and it is a proven fact (Asing Interview).
If an athlete sustains an injury, the goal is to strengthen their injured part and also their overall body.
This is why weight training is such an important subject for all sports from the court to the field or
even water sports. Even though someone may have surgery on one arm he or she can still work out on
the other arm and it benefits him or her by having a faster and quicker recovery. Lifting just
strengthens those muscles that were injured so it will make them stronger for the next time they are
used. With an injury lifting can help the rehab by strengthening what is needed. For example, if an
athlete tears the anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, then strengthening the muscles around the knee such
as the quadriceps and hamstrings will help the knee stabilize both before and after surgery, if needed.
Lifting despite an injury can also lead to mental strength because athletes who get injured usually go
into some depression because they cannot participate in what they love. So any little growth in rehab
helps build the self esteem of an athlete because

  • 2. Akbar Research Paper The Mughal dynasty was established by a man named Babur who ruled over the state of Hindustan (India). As a youth, Babur, a prince of the house of Timur, was unable to maintain his sovereignty over the small Central Asian state bequeathed to him by his father (Source?). Instead, he turned his attention to the southeast, where he occupied Kabul in 1504, and almost immediately embarked on his conquest of India (Source?). By 1527, Babur had defeated both the forces of the Lodi sultan and those of the Hindu confederacy (Source?). However, at the time of his death, in 1530, he had not yet transformed his territorial acquisitions into an empire (Source?). This task was left to his son Humayun, who lacked the military genius of his father and soon forfeited the Mughal foothold in India (Source?). Only through Persian military intervention did he manage to regain the capital cities of Agra and Delhi in 1555; however, Humayun s son Akbar was credited with the real foundation of the Mughal Empire (Source?). During his reign from 1556 to 1605, Akbar established dominion over northern and central India, as far east as Bengal. He secured the northwestern frontier, which served as a gateway to India for so many previous invasions. Akbar s most important territorial gain was the sultanate of Gujarat, in the west, which provided the Mughal empire with enormous wealth from its commercial centers, and access to the Arabian Sea. This presented an opportunity for lucrative trade with both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Power Transmission Of Electric Utilities Electric Utilities are a vital industry to the overall economy, and to our very way of life. Keeping the lights on, is for many people, the reason they go to work, that along with food, and other necessities. Therefore these companies serve a very important role, and just like other industries there is competition. Specifically, for our purposes, the electric utilities industry I m going to focus on is the transmission of power from a generator, to a distribution center, another utilities company, or the final consumer. The key economic drivers, in this industry revolve, as always, around demand. Therefore consumption, number of households, price of electricity, manufacturing capacity and public capital investments are all derived from the demand coming from the end users, in the economy (IBISworld). These metrics are a result of a heavily regulated market, in which the consumers, and therefore its agent, the government, hold most of the power in this industry. Electric power transmission is a mature industry in the United States, and its projected growth over the next ten years is a modest 1.2% (Morningstar). This industry will be examined as a whole and then comparatively, as I inspect companies performing in this sector and their relative performance. EXTERNAL ENVIORNMENT When assessing the external environment of the electric utilities industry, a PESTLE analysis is appropriate to determine significant external factors affecting this industry (Vrabac). Of these PESTLE ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Persuasive Essay No On Traveling To Mars Darren Gamble Mr. Stewart ERWC 12 17 April 2017 No On Traveling To Mars Since the beginning of time, people have been curious, and are always trying to explore. But now it is 2017, and we have to understand what we should do and what we shouldn t do. People today have a good idea about the hazards of space travel and know the consequences space travel can have for people. And after considering Andy Weir s statement regarding travel to Mars, I am of the opinion that we as a nation should not fund a manned mission to Mars in the near future because it will be very expensive, we have a larger need to explore places here on Earth, and it purposes a large danger to the people traveling in space. First, trying to fund a manned mission to Mars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our bodies are not built for space. The exposure to radiation can cause cataracts, brain damage, and cancer. Weightlessness can cause muscle mass loss, bone mass loss, and bad circulation. Author of Humans may dream of traveling to Mars, but our bodies aren t built for it, Charles Wohlforth and Amanda Hendrix explains Doctor astronauts working on the International Space Station in 2009 also discovered that living in weightlessness can damage the optic nerve. In the absence of gravity, cerebral spinal fluid stops circulating. On voyages of more than a year, that could lead to blindness or contribute to dementia, [3]. This is a big problem when it comes to space travel, and should be NASA s biggest priority. In conclusion, traveling to Mars may seem like a great idea, but it really isn t. After considering Andy Weir s statement regarding travel to Mars, I am of the opinion that we as a nation should not fund a manned mission to Mars in the near future because it will be very expensive, we have a larger need to explore places here on Earth, and it purposes a large danger to the people traveling in space. • 5. `` Brave New World Of Digital Intimacy `` And Mark Twain... Humanity started as small tribes of people working together and benefiting each other, with each member having a clear identity that complements the other small group members. The advancement of civilization threatened this identity. Soon, hordes of people living together in cities, towns, and countries drowned out individual voices and opinions, causing people to lose a sense of identity. While it may be hard to maintain a sense of identity in a crowd, society offers many hidden benefits that can counterbalance the struggles of identity. Two readings, Clive Thompson s Brave New World of Digital Intimacy and Mark Twain s The Dairies of Adam and Eve show how society and sharing the Good life can benefit the individual overall, and might even help an individual find their own identity. In Mark Twain s The Diaries of Adam and Eve, Adam first struggled with the existence of his new life partner Eve. He hated the fact that he never had alone time, and the fact that Eve was starting to name all the animals in the garden. Matters worsened when they had kids. However, near the end of the reading, Adam begun to realize that Eve enriched his life in a way that he never knew before. Adam, in return, also enriched Eve s life. The two found happiness together where they normally would not find it alone. The pair s relationship shows the core idea of forsaking solitude and peace for something more, the companionship and joy of others. In the section under Ten Years Later Adam ... • 6. Resistance Training Essay Resistance training is an exercise that exploits progressive resistance movements, typically with free weights or weight machines, to build strength or muscle endurance (Mood et al 2003). Weight training has become very popular in recent years and is now used for a variety of reasons including performance enhancement, competitive weight lifting and to increase physical fitness (Mood et al 2003). Interval training involves a repeated series of exercise work bouts interspersed with rest of relief periods. This is a popular method among athletes because it allows the athlete to exercise at higher relative intensities during the work interval than are possible with longer duration, continuous training (Heyward 2002). The intensity can vary from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It might be more appropriate to refer to this type of training as vo2 max or aerobic capacity training since the athlete trains at or very near the intensity which demands vo2 max of the system (Daniels and Scardina, 1984). Interval training can be referred to in several different ways. Fox (1977) refers to two types of interval training, low power output interval training and high power output interval training. High power output interval training involves exercise and rest periods of less than one minute. Gibala and Mcgee (2008) refer to High intensity training. This generally refers to repeated sessions of relatively short intermittent exercise often performed with an all out . Minimum volume of High intensity training may be necessary to increase VO2 peak. Alternatively, Astrand and Rodahl (1977) say that exercise bouts lasting 3 5 minutes each are the longest recommended and are considered optimum for training aerobic processes. The purpose of high intensity training is to repeatedly stress the physiological systems that will be used during specific endurance type exercise (Daniels and Scardina 1984) than which is required during a specific activity. Intensity was the most important factor in producing improvements in aerobic power, regardless of level of exercise, duration frequency, program length or initial fitness (Wenger and bell, ... • 7. The Creek Field Is An Old Accumulation And Is Reaching The... The Darst Creek Field is an old accumulation and is reaching the end of its primary production phase. It offers the unique operational constraints of its targets being primarily of carbonate lithology (limestone s and chalks.) This structural composition offers potential to be enhanced via a chemical or water flood due to its relatively high permeability and other reservoir characterization. Contained within is the research and findings after building and executing a simulation of the potential for a flood in this area. 1 Introduction Water and polymer flooding have seen a surge in older fields as a method of extracting bypassed hydrocarbons in the secondary production phase of the reservoir. Typically, the floods have seen the largest increase of EUR in reservoirs that have highly mobile fluids and with a high permeability formation. This allows the fluids to rapidly move through the formation and push the desired hydrocarbons towards our production wells. These reservoirs are typically in the form of deeper sandstone reservoirs, but studies are being conducted in an attempt to implement the floods in other reservoir types. Through this paper we will evaluate the needs of an EOR process in carbonate formations to evaluate their potential implementation in the Darst Creek Oil Field in Luling, Texas. The evaluation will evaluate studies of flood effectiveness in other carbonate reservoirs to evaluate both the operational and theoretical constraints of this specific ... Why, this play has been the rage for 400 years! Let s analyze the reasons for its success. A.C. Bradley tells in his book of criticism, Shakespearean Tragedy, the extreme importance of the character of Hamlet to the rating of the play: Naturally then, the tragedy of Hamlet with Hamlet left out has become the symbol of extreme absurdity; while the character itself has probably exerted a great fascination, and certainly has been the subject of more discussion, than any other in the whole literature of the world. Heilman in The Role We Give Shakespeare relates the high ranking of Shakespeare to the innumerableness of the parts : But the Shakespeare completeness appears graspable and possessable to many men at odds with each other, because of the innumerableness of the parts: these parts we may consider incompletenesses, partial perspectives, and as such they correspond to the imperfect (but not necessarily invalid) modes of seeing and understanding [. . .] . This makes it possible to put into practice the most appropriate care, plan for the residents needs. There is only a small amount of literature providing quality evidence based on the use of a successful oral health assessment tool for people with dementia (JBI, 2004). There is no published evidence to this date that has directly linked the use of the assessment tool and the standard of oral hygiene and care given within residential aged care facilities (JBI, 2004). For successful assessment of the residents with dementia the assessment should be undertaken by trained staff and on admission the assessment should also involve a dentist (JBI, 2004). • 14. Lizard Adaptations Josiah Lizards The lizard is a fascinating creature. Lizards vary in size, shape, ability, dietary needs, habitat, and mating. For instance, the Komodo dragon is bigger than a gecko, needs more food to eat, and eats a different source of food. The iguana will live near the water, while a ruin lizard will live in grassy fields, parks, or gardens. Nonetheless all these animals are still lizards. It is intriguing to learn about the habitats, predators, and characteristics of lizards. Lizards have different habitats some choose sunny places to put their homes, while others will live in shady spots. Then there are the lizards that live in the dessert where it is nice and hot, but they live under shelving or loose rocks because they need some protection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most lizards that live in the shade will have smooth and soft skin. This will help the lizard crawl through tight spots. If the lizard is a chameleon then it will have a specialized tail and feet. Their tail is a prehensile tail, this means that they can use their tail to curl around a branch; their feet are also special because they can use them to grip tightly to a branch. Chameleons live in trees, but they do not have soft skin; they have hard skin and horns for protection, along with their ability to camouflage (Bishop, 22, 26). The lizard is not friends with everybody. There are animals that when they see a lizard they do not see the cute or cool animal that we see; they see a snack, or dinner depending on the animal. These animals consist of birds, snakes, or even other lizards (Knopf, 487 580). When a lizard notices a snake slithering through the ground, it most likely will not try to fight it. Now that is depending on the size of the snake and the lizard. Obviously, if the lizard is a lot bigger than the snake then it will fight, or the snake will just turn away. If the snake is bigger than the lizard, then most likely the lizard will dash away or climb up a tree. Some lizards will actually stand still, so that way they are not noticed by the snake. It wasn t until I was older I decided to play the sport with a passion. I have noticed track runners come in various body compositions including body mass and height, which made me ponder, does height of a runner affect their speed? With all things being equal (body mass, proportionality and stride rate) the mechanics of running depends upon more than runner height. According to most researchers, the height of the runner can be a factor that helps increase speed, but the mechanics of a runner s stride, and how the runner s body responds to training also can make a runner faster. A runner should have a steady stride rate and have a manageable body mass and have an equal proportionally in order to maximize his or her potential. Background information Running is a type of gait characterized by an aerial phase in which all feet are above the ground (though there are exceptions). Running is a method of transportation allowing humans and other animals to move rapidly on foot ( Running ). I chose to do my looking assignment on his oil and graphite on canvas and wood Framed . I traveled to Roanoke to see this fine piece of art in the Tubman Art museum. When I first looked at this piece I was very drawn to the texture. By the looks of the picture I took, you cannot really tell that this piece is textured. This piece depicts a picture of a man who seems to be a museum worker holding a frame and essentially framing himself in it. In this piece you also see other pieces of art hanging on the wall around him giving him a wide variety of very expressive looks. You see in this painting that Rockwell used a picture inside of a picture to tell the story of the museum worker. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you look at the paintings in the background of this picture you see that they are very expression based. Overall the figures of the museum worker is naturalistic to me. He seems to have a very naturalistic body frame and expression. He is in kind of a contorted contraposto stance with relaxed shoulders and varying his weight instead of just being very rigid and stiff. The paintings in the background are different kinds of pieces. You see three different frames of artwork and then a sculpture all of the paintings on the wall are looking at the museum worker and faced towards him except the sculpture. This makes them have a more naturalistic feel as if they are alive by just watching every move he is making. To me that makes him the focal point of his whole piece. The sculpture in this piece is faced away from the museum worker in very fluid movement as if the museum worker could be following this sculpture if she were actually ... Fears to lose control, especially minorities, result in discussions on keeping exiting boundaries, language or religious identity and colonial government. Also, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick wanted to keep their provincial identity. MacDonald (later the first Prime Minster) did not support federalism, but a unitary state, an agreement was reached leading to the BNAAct of 1867 giving the Dominion a full responsible government with two levels: federal and provincial, requiring a government to resign when it loses a confidence vote. • 33. Reflection Of Jesus Jesus continues to preach. He forbids divorce and advocates chastity, while expounding the virtues of asceticism. He warns against the pitfalls of wealth, teaches forgiveness, and welcomes children. In Jerusalem, cheering crowds await him. People spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road (Matthew 21:8). Upon his arrival in Jerusalem, Jesus expels money changers from the Jewish temple and defies the chief priests and elders, saying, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers (Matthew 21:13). Jesus s action earns him the support of the crowds. He chastises Jewish leaders, telling them they have been poor caretakers of the temple and that the people have been hypocritical, focusing on technical legal issues rather than justice and mercy and faith (Matthew 23:23). Seeing the wickedness of Jerusalem, and foreseeing God s punishment of the wicked, Jesus warns his disciples to be prepared for the end of the world. He says that tribulations will precede the final judgment, but that the Son of man Jesus himself will come, and that the righteous will be saved. In Chapter 26, Jesus celebrates the Last Supper with the disciples. Jesus indicates that Judas, one of his disciples, will betray him. Jesus predicts that after his death, the other disciples will flee, and Peter will also betray him. WhenHe breaks bread and drinks wine with the disciples, Jesus initiates a ritual that later ... Without pre training, showing up on the day of tryouts and hoping to be great and being able to do well is a horrible idea. Lifting weights strengthens bones and tendons. It helps increase muscle volume and muscle conditioning. It allows an athlete to perform with a higher level of strength and speed. Physically, athletes whom weight train and are in good condition will also be able to recover faster if and when an injury occurs. I see this in our setting and it is a proven fact (Asing Interview). If an athlete sustains an injury, the goal is to strengthen their injured part and also their overall body. This is why weight training is such an important subject for all sports from the court to the field or even water sports. Even though someone may have surgery on one arm he or she can still work out on the other arm and it benefits him or her by having a faster and quicker recovery. Lifting just strengthens those muscles that were injured so it will make them stronger for the next time they are used. With an injury lifting can help the rehab by strengthening what is needed. For example, if an athlete tears the anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, then strengthening the muscles around the knee such as the quadriceps and hamstrings will help the knee stabilize both before and after surgery, if needed. Lifting despite an injury can also lead to mental strength because athletes who get injured usually go into some depression because they cannot participate in what they love.
