Taylor Swift Debuts ‘Safe & Sound’ Music Video

Earlier this week, superstar Taylor Swift debuted the highly anticipated music video for her song “Safe & Sound,” featuring The Civil Wars. The track is the lead single from the soundtrack of “The Hunger Games,” which hits theaters March 23. Swift, who co-wrote the song, says she never thought it would be released because of the nature of the track.

“I had this title that I’d been working with called ‘Safe & Sound’ and I just knew that I wanted it to deal with sort of the empathy, sort of the more sensitive, sad, bittersweet side of this story [“The Hunger Games”],” she tells MTV. “Never imagining that this would be picked for a single because it’s a lullaby.”

In addition to another song from both Swift and The Civil Wars, The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond, will also feature a song by country superstar Miranda Lambert and her all-girl trio Pistol Annies. The soundtrack will be available on March 20.
