In pairs, player 1 dribbles around the space and player 2 has to run and create an overlap/underlap and call for the ball to be played "IN FRONT" of them to run onto. The players the swap roles.

Progression:

No longer working in pairs but all together. Once you have passed to a player who has overlaped/undrlaped you, go and overlap a new player who is dribbling with the ball. The process is repaeated .

Key points:

Communication to release the pass when called for. weight of pass is very important so the overlaper runs onto the ball. Body shape of passer and runner. Runners slightly to the side so they can see to pass and the passer in a good poistion to make an easier pass.

Player 1

Player 2

The role of player to is to receive the ball from player 1 and set the ball back to supporting player number 3. They then rotate to receive the ball from player 1 again and set to player 3. Player to should be on the move slightly to simulate pulling off into space to receive.

Player 3

The role of player 3 is to recieve the ball from player 2 and send a through ball to player 1 who has made a third man run. They then need to make a small run to the shaded area and rotate to receive the set pass from player 2. Then again send a through ball to player 1 the return to the shaded box starting position.

Once the sequence is complete, repeat for the duration of the practice (2 mins) then rotate positions/roles so all players have completed each numbered role.

Progression:
