What started out 18 years ago as a small seafood restaurant in Bonita Springs has evolved into 11 restaurants with locations from Key West to Tampa Bay.

And now Pinchers has opened in Carrollwood. The family-owned, Florida-based seafood restaurant also opened at the Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel last year, and the company has plans to open more locations.

"We are looking to continue to move and expand our brand," said Kevin Rooney, vice president of marketing and advertising.

Pinchers features freshly caught seafood that is delivered daily to the restaurants. As co-owner of the Island Crab Co. in Pine Island, Pinchers ensures that it has fresh crabs and seafood. "We actually have our own boats, and our own fishermen that go and fish exclusively for us," Rooney said.

In addition to seafood, the restaurant features an extensive menu that includes pasta, tacos, sandwiches and salads. Rooney said that the cheesy crab dip served with warm tortilla chips is one of the signature items.

The restaurant takes a family-friendly approach, with kids eating free with a paid adult.

From 3 to 6 p.m. everyday, diners can enjoy 70-cent oysters, clams, shrimp and wings. For anyone wanting seafood to go, the Carrollwood location features a fresh seafood market.

Pinchers is located at 14391 Dale Mabry Highway, in the former Red Elephant location. It is open for lunch and dinner, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. To view the full menu, visit pinchersusa.com.
