Natalia Bryant is a natural-born storyteller. The daughter of the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant is in her third year of film school at the University of Southern California (where she rooms with Emmy-winning Euphoria star Storm Reid!) and is currently planning a career as a director of “girlhood and coming-of-age stories," similar to those by Sofia Coppola and Greta Gerwig.

She's already got a head start, too — Bryant told Town & Country this week that her junior thesis project is a short, five-minute film about two sisters and their absentee parents. “I told my mom, ‘It’s not about you guys, I swear!’” Bryant explained of the inspiration behind the film. “I got to thank her for being such a supportive parent.”

Bryant is also continuing her modeling career, telling Town & Country that it's “fun” for her to do both. “They’re both collaborative, and you meet so many different people," she explained. “It makes the world feel smaller. What I’ve always loved about film is that it’s such a collaborative art form, and I view modeling the same way.” Bryant has been immersing herself in all kinds of creative fields over the past few years; last summer, she worked as an intern on Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour.

Natalia Bryant knows her last name comes with a legacy and expectations, given her father's basketball superstardom and the tragic loss of both Kobe and her younger sister Gianna in a helicopter crash in 2020. But she's ready for it. “In terms of legacy, my main goal is just to be the best version of me that I possibly can,” Bryant shared. “I have to keep learning, because there’s no finish line. You just have to keep pushing and being the best person you can be and soaking everything up like a sponge… The job’s never done.”
