Acer is in the middle of an event here in New York City where the company is announcing a whole new suite of products. One of the most surprising was a new, mid-tier phone called the "Liquid Zest Plus."

The new phone is on the bigger side, as it comes with a 5.5-inch screen. And Acer has taken advantage of the size by packing in a relatively massive 5,000mAh battery that the company says should last users about two full days. Even better, the phone also supports fast charging. It's not the first phone with a battery that big, but it's a welcome addition to a phone that will cost under $250.

Acer is also equipping the Liquid Zest Plus with what the company is calling a "tri-focus" camera. What that means is that the phone's 13-megapixel camera uses not one, but all three of the leading autofocus systems: laser, phase detection, and contrast detection.
