Chihuahua's are one of the smallest breeds in the world. They are the ultimate lap dog. Those large dark eyes practically beg us to pick them up. They have the largest brain of any animal relative to it's size.

Chihuahuas are tiny jewel dogs that come in many different colors and markings. They can have either long or short coats, however they all have large, alert ears, big moist eyes, and huge personalities. Inside each little Chihuahua is a miniature king or queen ready to rule their world, so they need to be taught what is acceptable in human kingdoms. They are intelligent and enthusiastic, so they usually don’t need extensive training.

The typical Chihuahua weighs 3 to 6 pounds. There are Chihuahuas that are smaller and can also be oversize, with some reaching 12 or more pounds. These can be good choices for families with children.
