Clusters (up to 1 inch) of small purple flowers on branched long stems giving a very colorful & airy appearance from August through frost, broad leaves can be 8 inch long at the base of the plant and give the plant it's name, the leaves become much narrower & shorter on the flowering stems, tolerates very poor soil, attracts Butterflies.
