Car crashes into second floor of Pennsylvania home, photos show; no injuries reported

A house in central Pennsylvania sustained major damage after a car slammed into the second floor of the home, local emergency responders said.

A photo posted by the Junction Fire Company shows a gray Toyota Corolla wedged into an upstairs room, with a portion of the car, including one of its back wheels and trunk, hanging off an awning.

The wreck took place on Sunday night in Decatur Township, north of the city of Lewistown and about 60 miles northeast of Harrisburg.

Crews with Junction Fire Company in Lewistown responded to a report of a vehicle crashing into a structure and said they arrived on scene to find a vehicle stuck in the second floor of a home. The driver of the vehicle was outside the home.

No injuries were reported by the department.

Another photo posted by firefighters shows the vehicle on the ground with its windshield shattered and front end caved in.

Rescues crews said they then stabilized the home and helped the homeowners put a tarp on the hole created by the vehicle.

It was not immediately known if anyone was in the home during the crash or how the crash began.

The department could not immediately be reached by USA TODAY Tuesday morning.

Photos released on social media by the department drew questions from readers.

"How?" one person posted on Facebook.

"I want to see what he launched from," another user wrote.

"Back to the Future in a different make and model?!," one woman wrote. " Thanks to first responders!"
