For all the attention given to “Team Peeta” and “Team Gale,” there may be no stronger relationship in the Hunger Games movies than the one between Katniss and Prim. Katniss, the older sister played by Jennifer Lawrence, is fiercely protective of her younger sister (played by Willow Shields), and it’s her volunteering to take her sister’s place in the Hunger Games that kicks off the entire story. But that sisterly bond doesn’t seem to get the same kind of attention as the dueling romances.

Until now.

Above you can see The Sister Portrait, featuring Katniss and Prim, which will debut at Cannes this week in honor of the Hunger Games franchise. Photographed by Tim Palen, the chief marketing officer at Lionsgate, as well as an award-winning fine-art photographer, The Sister Portrait is included in the new book Tim Palen: Photographs From The Hunger Games, which will be published June 29. Now available for pre-order at assouline.com, the book features Palen’s portraits of the entire Hunger Games cast, from Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) in her most elaborate costumes to iconic images of Katniss that became the film’s poster art. It also features an introduction written by Vanity Fair’s own executive West Coast editor, Krista Smith.

In addition, there are numerous images—like the striking portrait of Katniss and Prim—that have never been seen before. Following the June 29 release at assouline.com, the book will be available everywhere July 29.
