RMRMMF9J–. Annals of the South African Museum = Annale van die Suid-Afrikaanse Museum. Natural history. THE SYSTEMATIGS OF THE FISHES OF THE FAMILY CLINIDAE 47 S.A.M. 20563; 1 juvenile from Mozambique Island, R.U.C. Lectotype of C'linns cottoides I have examined three of the four syntypes of Clinus cottoides. Remarks. Clinus acuminatus is similar on the one hand to Clinus agilis, having a flat interorbital, and on the other hand to species such as Clinus cottoides, Clinus heterodon, Clinus latipennis, and Clinus helenae, which lack a notch in the membrane between the third and fourth dorsal spines.
