Larsen Until recently LUaeopsis chinensis (L.) Kuntze was considered a rare element in the flora of Delaware. The plant was first collected in Delaware at Augustine Beach, August 3, 1916, by Dr. F. W. Pennell, who deposited a specimen in the herbarium of the PhUadelphia Botanical Club. This remained the only record of the occurrence of the species in the state until the summer of 1929, when the plant was collected by Robert R. T
