Rem Analysis and Theorycraft – Should You Pull?

Best girl keeps winning

Best girl keeps on winning

Note: This was made before the release of Rem. A more detailed analysis and guide will be published once testing has been done after her release. Character information is subject to change.

Basic Information

  • Skill 1: Leave it to Rem!
  • Skill 2: Rem the Healer
  • Burst: No Mercy from Rem
  • Cooldown: 20s
  • Rarity: SSR
  • Burst: II
  • Weapon: MG
  • Class: Supporter
  • Element: Water
  • Manufacturer: Abnormal
  • Squad: Emilia’s Faction
  • Weapon Name: Demon’s Mighty Grip

Skill 1: Leave it to Rem!

Activates after landing 15 normal attack(s)in Demon’s Breath status.
Affects self. ATK 4.22%, stacks up to 30 times(s)and lasts for I0 sec.
Activates when using Burst Skill. Affect all allies. Shares HP recovery for 10 sec.

First effect is a massive self ATK buff that can be maintained through out the fight and makes her DPS competitive with other meta units despite being a Supporter. Assuming your device can maintain stable 60 FPS, her ATK buff will reach full stacks in 7.5s after entering full burst, maxing out at a staggering 126.6%. Once the full burst ends, you’ll have a ~9.75s grace period to re-enter full burst and refresh the ATK buff stack, if we account for reload w/o Resilience cube, it will still be a 7.25s window which is easily achievable as long as you bring a Cooldown Reduction unit.

Nerd Section (Math)

Base ATK x Weapon Multiplier x S1 Buff x Rate of Fire per sec
75265 x 0.057 x 2.266 x 60 = 583282.68 dmg/s
Compared to Guillotine with max S2 buff
90318 x 0.057 x 1.9504 x 60 = 602454.29 dmg/s
And Scarlet with max S1 buff
90318 x 0.2708 x 2.1575 x 12 =633220.58 dmg/s

Her damage can even surpass Scarlet without any HP conditions as MG’s are able to hit Rapture cores with extreme ease while Scarlet rarely can, depending on how large their cores are. Core hits massively increase DPS (realistically around 40%~ when factoring other damage multipliers in the same bracket, E.G Full burst mode and Range Bonus).

Second effect allows Rem to heal her allies through lifesteal during full burst. Given how often we full burst in the current meta, her healing should be more than sufficient. We’re expecting great healing performance from her as her personal DPS and lifesteal rate is decently high. Rem should outperform Marciana who has a similar healing mechanic (Depending on who Marciana is Paired with). Unlike Marciana however, Rem is able to heal everyone sufficiently as the life steal should be based on her damage, which Rem can obviously dish out quite a punch.

Skill 2: Rem the Healer

Activates when entering battle.Affects self.
Recovers 42.24% of attack damage as HP continuously.
Activates when entering battle. Affects self and 2 Rocket
Launcher-wielding ally unit(s) with the highest ATK.
Shares HP recovery continuously

First part gives Rem constant lifesteal, converting almost half of her DPS to healing. (brief math section, based on lv400 stat)

Base ATK x Weapon Multiplier x S1 Buff x Lifesteal Rate
75265 x 0.057 x 2.266 x 0.4224 = 4106.31 HP/bullet
Will be 246378.6 HP/sec (~10% of Rem’s HP and ~2-2.4% of other unit’s HP during burst)
Some damage multipliers aren’t included in the section above (FB bonus, Core damage,…) but we can already see that she has very competitive healing rates, more testing is needed to accurately rank her healing ability.

Second part simply shares her HP recovery with 2 allies using Rocket Launcher constantly, not really an important skill due to her constant Life steal from skill 1, but can be helpful when running no cooldown reduction teams. the only competitive RL DPS currently are Scarlet: Black Shadow, Emilia, and A2. A2 will benefit greatly from this constant healing if you ever decide to use her.

Skill 3: No Mercy from Rem

Affects self.
Demon’s Breath: Critical Rate ▲ 37.8% for 10 sec.
Affects all allies with a Rocket Launcher.
ATK ▲ 50.78% of caster’s ATK for 10 sec.
Max Ammunition Capacity ▲ 5 round(s) for 10 sec.

We’ll overlook the Critical Rate buffs as it’s a marginal DPS increase as mentioned in other kit reviews, even though the percentage increase is rather substantial, as critical hits are rather very diluted multipliers, this can be greatly increased via Overload Rolls however.

Second part of her burst provides an ATK buff and Max Ammo Capacity increase to Rocket Launcher units. The values are great but it’s a shame the effect is locked to RL units as not many units will benefit from this due to the lack of RL DPS. Emilia, A2, and Laplace will get more mileage than Scarlet: Black Shadow due to Scarlet: Black Shadow having an overwhelming ATK buff on her burst, while the others don’t have such innate ATK buffs, Rem’s Burst also provides what’s basically a free max ammo overload to them on burst as well.

Campaign

A solid B2 DPS and healer hybrid unit, having 20s cooldown allows her to fit in almost any team comp. However it’s high recommended to pair her with a B1 unit with Cooldown Reduction (Liter/Volume/Dorothy/D: Killer Wife) to ensure more burst uptime and less chances of dropping her ATK buff.

There’s also the obvious RL synergy so you can run her with relevant RL attackers such as Emilia, A2, Scarlet:Black Shadow, Power, And Laplace.

Screen Wipe Squad

Liter,Rem,Emilia,A2,Attacker
  • A2 / Emilia can be replaced with any of your preferred RL

Flex Slot is recommended to be a strong Single target damager (Red hood, Alice, Etc) to be able to take care of a the target Rapture with more ease, as RL’s usually don’t do a great job at Single target damage. This team should be able to handle high stress situations in High CP deficits, perhaps better than its Bunny team Variant. This is due to having a High ATK buffs (Which lasts between rapture waves). And an extra slot that isn’t locked behind a pair (Noir).

Arena

Rem’s a possible candidate for stall teams. As Rem can provide life-steal constantly to 2 other rocket launchers (Burst gens) at rather high amounts before full burst, this allows teams to have more of a chance to survive the first wave of bursts. During full burst, it is unsure how effective she’ll be in regards to keeping the whole team alive with her life steal without further healing support during, but theoretically she should be able to hold up pretty well in some teams

Needs hands on testing.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Solo Raid | Union Raid

Rem will be replacing Marciana in these game modes as she’s a direct upgrade (better healing and personal damage). While also providing great buffs to RL units, there aren’t that many units to take advantage of her buffs so her healing output is valued higher than her RL synergy. Nevertheless there’s always the option to make the best of both worlds.

Team Comp

Volume,Rem,Emilia,Scarlet: Black Shadow,Attacker

The campaign comp is also usable here as it has healing and DPS, however would want to hog Volume instead

Special Intercept

While healing is only mandatory on Blacksmith and Chatterbox to a certain extent, Rem will no doubt perform well on these bosses thanks to her elemental advantage, especially on Blacksmith whose core is open.

Closing thoughts

Pull Best Girl! DPS, Healer, and buffer all in one, she’s no doubt a valuable Asset in any roster as she provides great DPS potential and “future proofing” by being a really great solo Burst II healer and buffer!

She should be able to hold her own rather well in campaign despite not being her forte as simply a damage dealer if the Commander does not have any of the duos. Her Value only increases the more Meta Rocket launchers that can be used with her in Campaign/Boss Battles

A more detailed analysis coming soon.

  1. > “Her S1 attack buff and lifesteal only activates during burst”
What? The lifesteal is permanently activated. Not dependant to a burst, except for its efficacy, sure (w/ the ATK buff).

      • Ahah, understandable. By principle i am too, but as a f2p player, i’ve to play in it. Too many gems to grab (though to be fair, the difference between top 30 and 6 isn’t that big, i could also not give a F). And from time to time, it’s interesting to think about teams and their counters, especially when you don’t have all the meta nikkes, else it loses a bit of its interest.

        Again, thanks for your guides!

      • I haven’t touched arena since seeing everyone get past the lvl 160 lock so quickly. Just a bunch of whales with gaping wallets- I mean game supporters.

  2. Nice, will probably still pick her up even without Emilia and A2, I’ll stack buffs on SBS as much as I want

  3. I see the possibility of having Rem on a Tia/Naga setup. Tia-Liter-Naga-RL user-Red Hood-Rem. You won’t use Rem’s burst but as a healer for your two RLs. With her taunt and constant healing, Tia can take hits now and not get obliterated when she does as Rem’s healing will offset all the damage she’ll be taking. Rem’s healing from Skill 1 is your emergency button when you need healing for everyone. This is theoretical, so I can’t say this is 100% foolproof. I can see skill priority being 2>3>1 with 2 being the highest and 1 being the lowest priority.

    • Nevermind, I’m stupid. You can swap Naga out and have a burst 3 RL and red hood and have a tanky Tia that way

  4. I am so happy. I got 2 Rems in my last pull of 4 pulls. Also, I got a Red Hood on the first roll, so nice. Then there is 7 blasted Folkwang.
